Gift Certificate Customers — Important Notice:
We have received numerous phone calls from disappointed consumers that either purchased or received gift certificates sold by on-line ticket agencies. Most were told or led to believe through web sites that they could be redeemed with us or at a glider ride location in Northern California. The gift certificates were sold by companies named Skyride, Luxergy, Thrill Planet, San Jose Glider Rides, and from looking around there are many other website names being used. Google and Yahoo both still have paid sponsor searches and free internet searches shown for these websites under glider rides in our area. We are working on this issue but for now please protect yourself and your gift recipient by just asking a few questions up front when ordering. Please note how our website gives you many details that the other sites will not. We give detailed directions to our location, specific details about our area and an on-line order form with details about our services.

| Looking for Glider Rides in another area?
For a directory of all the glider ride operations in the United States please visit glidersailplanerides.com. This directory also shows which glider operators in the country honor “national flight certificates”. Currently in the state of California there is just one company that honors “national flight certificates” and they are in the Los Angeles area. Unfortunately all the Napa, Sonoma Valley and Calistoga area glider ride operations and clubs have been closed over the years due to land development issues.
Looking for a Gliding Club in the Bay Area?
The Hollister Gliding Club, with whom we share our office, is a commercial club that provides glider flight training out of the Hollister Airport. They have no membership fees. Bay Area Soaring Associates is a private club (for licensed glider pilots only) that is also located on the Hollister Airport. Another private club is the Northern California Soaring Association and they are located on the Byron Airport. Unfortunately all the Napa, Sonoma Valley and Calistoga area glider ride operations and clubs have been closed over the years due to land development issues.
Why are scenic glider rides considered one of the safest ways to fly?
Scenic glider rides are considered one of the safest ways to fly because we only fly in good weather conditions, we do not have complex control systems, we always fly with in a safe gliding distance to the airport, the gliders are flown by FAA certified commercial pilots who must maintain strict FAA flight currency requirements, the gliders are all FAA certified for commercial glider ride use and the gliders are maintained by FAA certified aircraft mechanics to strict FAA maintenance inspection requirements. Be careful on your drive to the Hollister Airport; this is statistically the riskier part of your adventure.
